Re-certification Requirements
NAPS Doulas must renew their certification every three years. If you are currently certified with NAPS Doulas, you can check your Club Express profile for renewal deadlines.
Re-certification Requirements:
- Current NAPS member
- Has met all certification maintenance requirements for each year (see below)
- Of the 12 total CEUs needed, 3 must be a Cultural Learning Opportunity (CLO)
- Copy of current infant CPR certification (hands-on)
- Copy of current liability insurance
- Copy of current WSP police background check (within the last year)
- Signed Liability Release
- Signed Code of Ethics
- Signed Standards of Practice
- Signed Grievance Policy
- Signed Referral Line Ethics form
- Membership Questionnaire, filled out
- 3 evaluations: 1 each from 3 clients with whom you have spent at least 8 hours
- $35.00 certification review fee
In order to maintain certification, NAPS certified doulas:
- Must maintain continuous NAPS membership
- Must attend one NAPS event yearly:
- Annual Meeting
- Board Meeting
- Committee Meetings
- NW Doula Conference
- Volunteer to help at a NAPS sponsored event, such as: March for Babies, PEPSapalooza, Climb out of the Darkness
- Must maintain continuous CPR and Standards of Practice certification and liability insurance
- Must earn 4 CEUs yearly that broaden your postpartum doula skills and knowledge:
- NAPS Continuing Education events will be immediately added to your online record
- If you attend a continuing education event that is not hosted by NAPS, you must submit verification of your attendance here
- If you read a postpartum related book, attend a webinar, or watch an online learning video totaling at least an hour of content, you may submit a report on the material here
